With the Iran nuclear talks extended, the Ukraine crisis continuing, and the looming threat posed by the Islamic State, the European Union and the United States share many common challenges. In his first major public event since becoming EU ambassador, David O’Sullivan joined Carnegie President Jessica T. Mathews to offer his perspective on these and other key issues, including the ongoing TTIP negotiations and the direction of EU foreign policy under the new leadership in Brussels.
David O’Sullivan became EU ambassador to the United States in November 2014. He was previously chief operating officer of the European External Action Service and has served in a range of senior EU positions, including as director general for trade and secretary general of the European Commission.
