Benjamin Strick is an open-source specialist managing the Influence Operations Researchers’ Guild at the Partnership for Countering Influence Operations. He advises on and uses open-source methods to analyse, attribute, and document information on security and influence.
Prior to joining Carnegie, Ben was an open-source investigator with BBC Africa Eye where he worked with teams in London and Africa to document violence, human rights abuses, and influence in Africa, resulting in award-winning documentaries.
He is a regular contributor to Bellingcat, researching influence and sharing investigative and attribution techniques. He also uses these skills to support a large community of independent media, NGOs, law enforcement, government, and tech to identify new ways of data discovery. He has a Bachelor of Laws from Bond University and is a former reservist with the Australian Army.
