Six Crises: Mike Leavitt on Negotiating With China on Food and Drug Safety (2008)

Applying lessons to today's coronavirus pandemic, Mike Leavitt reflects on how the United States dealt with unsafe Chinese food and medical products in 2007 and 2008. Leavitt worked to open Food and Drug Administration offices in Chinese cities and pre-position U.S. inspectors at Chinese transportation hubs.
