The inaugural meeting of the working group on Arab transitions met in Beirut, Lebanon at the Carnegie Middle East Center. Representatives from several partner think tanks attended. Participants discussed the measures of progress and regression commonly associated with transitions and attempted to glean lessons from other similar global experiences. They focused on the key challenges facing Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen.
