While many in the West continue to view China as a pillar of authoritarianism, its internal social and political dynamics are shifting rapidly.
The New Yorker’s Evan Osnos addressed these tensions in a discussion of his recent, critically acclaimed book Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Truth, and Faith in the New China (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2014). Thomas L. Friedman of the New York Times moderated the discussion. A brief reception preceded the talk.
