Venezuela After The Death Of Hugo Chavez
The passing of Hugo Chavez leaves Venezuela in a state of uncertainty and instability, and the implications of a new government may have great implications for the region as well as the United States.
Source: NPR's Diane Rehm Show
Speaking on NPR's Diane Rehm Show, Carnegie's Moisés Naím discusses the death of Hugo Chavez and the implications of the power struggle that is likely to ensue, as well as the effects his death will have on the region. Although the poor in Venezuela have reaped great benefits throughout his tenure as president, Naím argued that Chavez leaves behind an ecnomy that is not better than when he first came into power fourteen years ago.
