William Norris

William Norris is no longer with the Carnegie Endowment.

William Norris was a nonresident associate in the Nuclear Policy Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where his research focuses on U.S.-China nuclear relations and risks of escalation.

Norris is also an assistant professor at the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, on research leave for the 2014–2015 academic year. He serves on the Faculty Advisory Board of the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs and is a member of the China and Latin America Working Group at the Inter-American Dialogue. Norris also serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Conference on Asian Studies.

Before joining the Bush School, Norris was a postdoctoral research associate at the Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs and a fellow in the Princeton-Harvard China and the World Program, a joint program created by the two universities to foster the study of China in the field of international relations.

Norris has been the recipient of the Asia Foundation’s Domestic Dimension of International Affairs Grant, the Bush School of Government’s Faculty Excellence Award, the Smith Richardson Foundation World Politics and Statecraft Fellowship, and a Bradley Fellowship, among others.
