Mohamed Kerrou is no longer with the Carnegie Endowment.

Mohamed Kerrou was a nonresident scholar at the Carnegie Middle East Center specializing in development, gender studies, and political change, with an emphasis on Islam and civil society in Tunisia and the Middle East. He is also a professor of political science in the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Tunis El Manar, a founding member of the Observatory of Tunisia Political Transition in Tunisia, and a visiting professor at both the University of Aix en Provence in France and the University of Rovira i Virgili in Spain.

Kerrou is the author of Hijab: New Veils and Public Spheres (2010) and of various articles and books on culture, religion, and politics.
