Younes Abouayoub of the United Nations discusses interaction between the political situation in Algeria and Libya.

Younes Abouayoub is director of the Governance and State-Building Division for the Middle East and North Africa at the United Nations. He was head of the political office of the UN under-secretary general for conflict prevention and senior political advisor to the UN secretary general special envoy to Burundi. Diwan interviewed Abouayoub in mid-May to get his views on the how the situations in Algeria and Libya have been linked, in particular how the recent protests in Algeria affected Libya.
