On June 21, 2007, Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, spoke at the Carnegie Moscow Center at a special symposium, “Discovering Each Other's Worlds, 1957-2007: Celebrating Fifty Years of Cultural, Scientific and Educational Exchanges between the United States and the Soviet Union/Russia.” This event was part of this year's ongoing commemoration of the 200th anniversary of U.S.-Russian diplomatic relations.
