Nataliia Shapoval

Nataliia Shapoval is President of the KSE Institute, one of the largest think tanks in Ukraine, and Vice President for Policy Research at the Kyiv School of Economics. Shapoval’s research focuses on public procurement reform, the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, economic statecraft, and regional development.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Shapoval and the KSE Institute team have been instrumental in offering research-based analytical support focusing on sanctions, war economy and recovery, and assessment of damages. She is a member of the Yermak-McFaul International Expert Group on Russian Sanctions and a Member of the Economic Policy Advisory Council to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

Shapoval has a Master's degree in Probability Theory and Statistics from Taras Shevchenko National University and a Master’s degree in Economic Analysis from the Kyiv School of Economics.
