The situation in Ukraine is very unstable and dangerous, and Moscow's support of the delayed Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and non-recognition of the new authorities in Kyiv only adds to the tension.

Carnegie Moscow Center’s Maria Lipman spoke on Channel 4 about the situation in Ukraine. She said that it is very unstable and dangerous. The same situation is also seen at Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, where armed people seized some government buildings. In the meantime, the government of Crimea has announced that they will call a referendum for a broader autonomy for the peninsula from Ukraine.

Moreover, Lipman added, Russia complicates the situation through the support of the delayed Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and non-recognition of the new authorities in Kyiv.
