Iran's senior negotiator Seyed Abbas Araqchi said a major part of the contents of the draft nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers has been agreed, while differences are still in place over one part. "We have now a text that a major part of it, even all its phrases, has been agreed but a part of it is still a source of difference," Araqchi said.

Middle East nuclear weapons ban proposal stumbles at U.N.

A U.N. attempt to work out a ban on nuclear weapons in the Middle East was in jeopardy after Egypt complained on Monday about the lack of progress and demanded the resignation of the Finnish coordinator of the initiative. The head of Egypt's delegation, Assistant Foreign Minister Hashim Badr, rejected any suggestion that Cairo was a spoiler and insisted that he wanted to move the process forward, not kill it.

NRC Updates Approach to Foreign Ownership

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is to revise how it assesses foreign ownership of US nuclear facilities, and will develop a graded approach to deal with licence applications from nuclear energy suppliers that include overseas entities in their ownership.
