Iran to Send Letter to G5+1 to Announce Readiness for Talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi renewed the country's preparedness to resume negotiations with the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany), and announced that Tehran will soon send a letter to the six world powers to reiterate its readiness for talks.

"Mr. (Saeed) Jalili as Iran's top nuclear negotiator had earlier announced his readiness to hold talks with the G5+1 and he will announce this once again in black and white," Salehi told FNA in Tehran on Wednesday. "We hope that the meeting will be held in a not far future," he added.

Salehi had also earlier this week expressed the hope that the upcoming negotiations with the G5+1 would yield good results. "I think upcoming talks with the G 5+1 will be a successful meeting, because I feel the other side is now interested to find a way to settle Iran's nuclear issue," Salehi said upon his arrival at Addis Ababa airport on Saturday evening.
