Security Studies

India’s evolving role in regional and global security is shaped by complex dynamics. Experts in the Security Studies Program examine India’s position in this world order through informed analyses of its foreign and security policies, focusing on the relationship with China, the securitization of borders, and the geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific.

After Tiananmen: The Rise of China

The sequel to ‘Tiananmen Square’, the book traces the developments in contemporary China from 1989 to 2010 and tells the story of how the country handled its complex domestic and external environment while silently ascending the world power hierarchy.

We hosted a book discussion on After Tiananmen: The Rise of China by Vijay Gokhale at Ballroom, The Oberoi, New Delhi on November 30 with Samantha Hoffman, Srinath Raghavan, Evan Feigenbaum, and Ashley J. Tellis.
