About

Leia Wang is a nonresident scholar in the Technology and International Affairs Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Her work focuses on China’s AI industrial policy and U.S.-China technological competition.

Prior to joining Carnegie, Leia held roles across the private and public sectors on AI adoption and regulation, geopolitical analysis, and international strategy. This includes working at the Centre for the Governance of AI and Morgan Stanley in London, the Institute for European Studies in Brussels, the Department of State in Hong Kong, and Sony Pictures in Los Angeles.

Leia holds a Master’s from the University of Cambridge, where she researched Chinese AI investment. She also holds Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Southern California, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Bocconi University, where she was a Trustee Scholar.
