Chen Guangcheng: Both Countries Want 'Quick Resolution'

Both the United States and China want to resolve the tension caused by the escape of Chen Guangcheng before high-level U.S. officials are scheduled to arrive in Beijing.

Speaking on BBC News, Carnegie’s Yukon Huang explained that Chen Guangcheng’s presumed flight to the U.S. embassy in Beijing is a major embarrassment for China and also a no-win situation for the United States. With U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner scheduled to arrive in Beijing on Wednesday, this event is likely to dominate the upcoming sensitive Strategic and Economic dialogues.
