On November 12, we hosted the final special edition webinar of our India and the World series, titled 'In conversation with...'.

We hosted Paul Haenle, director at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy, for a discussion on China's changing approach to global politics, its precarious relations with the United States, and the future of the Belt and Road Initiative. Paul Haenle will be in conversation with Rudra Chaudhuri.

Paul Haenle

Former Maurice R. Greenberg Director’s Chair, Carnegie China

Paul Haenle held the Maurice R. Greenberg Director’s Chair at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and is a visiting senior research fellow at the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore. He served as the White House China director on the National Security Council staffs of former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Rudra Chaudhuri

Former Director, Carnegie India

Rudra Chaudhuri was the director of Carnegie India. His research focuses on the diplomatic history of South Asia, contemporary security issues, and the important role of emerging technologies and digital public infrastructure in diplomacy, statecraft, and development. He and his team at Carnegie India chair and convene the Global Technology Summit, co-hosted with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
