Vasily Mikheyev

Vasily Mikheyev was scholar-in-residence and chair of the Asian Security Program at the Carnegie Moscow Center.

While at the Carnegie Moscow Center, Mikheyev served as deputy director of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of Russian Academy of Sciences, a position he has held since 1999. Previously he was counselor and head of the Political Section at the Russian Embassy in Lithuania (1993–1996) and first secretary at the Russian Embassy in North Korea (1981–1984).

He is the author of more than 200 scientific publications.
