Speaking on 'The Role of Bangladesh in South Asian Cooperation,' Ambassador Sobhan discussed the various domestic, regional and international challenges facing Bangladesh today, with a special focus on the evolving domestic situation. He emphasized that greater connectivity and trade in the South Asian region would prove beneficial for all, and lamented that although the region enjoys a shared philosophical, cultural, and intellectual heritage, the lack of active and visible cooperation hampers its ability to meet the challenges posed by poverty, development, and disaster reduction.
