Enforcing a World Without Nuclear Weapons

2009 Carnegie International Nonproliferation Conference States will not abolish nuclear weapons if they are not highly confident that everyone will comply with key disarmament agreements and nonproliferation rules. Reliable robust enforcement of compliance will be vital. Do recent compliance and enforcement experiences tell us anything about the future? What are the gaps between what is needed for enforcement and what the international community is now prepared to do?
