The Carnegie Middle East Center, in partnership with the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, held a conference that explored the challenges and political dynamics of security sector transformation in Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Libya, and Lebanon. The conference sought to identify new regional priorities for individuals and organizations working on reforming this sector post-Arab Spring and how to achieve these priorities. The conference also examined the role of the international and donor community in improving this sector and offered recommendations for follow-up programs and activities to assist existing national processes.
