The first introductory meeting of the youth network initiative took place in Egypt and sought to identify the primary issues facing the youth in the Middle East and North Africa, and map their priorities in terms of research and activism. Each member of the network discussed the research areas that they were working on, as well as the main opportunities and challenges associated with their respective fields. The meeting also produced a list of possible avenues of cooperation for future scholarly projects, particularly those that were overlooked by established regional research institutions.
