Youth Network Initiative: Meeting #2

Sun. June 16th, 2013
Beirut

The second meeting took place in Lebanon and concentrated on several key themes which could be used to frame future research by the participants of the initiative. Participants explored the trajectory of political engagement of youth in the post-Arab-Spring period and the opportunities for engagement that have since emerged. They also analyzed the differences between secular and Islamists parties and attempted to discern the reason for the latter’s success and appeal to young Arabs. Participants also discussed how youth can influence political change and their potential role in successful transition.
