Twitter Q&A: Syria, Russia, and the G20 Summit

Following President Obama’s decision to seek congressional support for a military response to the Syrian chemical weapons attack, and ahead of this week’s G20 Summit in St. Petersburg, Marwan Muasher and Andrew S. Weiss will hold a Twitter Q&A. They will respond to questions on the situation in Syria, the likely implications of a U.S.-led attack, and what to expect in terms of Putin-Obama dynamics at the G20 meeting.

Marwan Muasher
Vice President for Studies
Marwan Muasher is vice president for studies at Carnegie, where he oversees research in Washington and Beirut on the Middle East. Muasher served as foreign minister (2002–2004) and deputy prime minister (2004–2005) of Jordan, and his career has spanned the areas of diplomacy, development, civil society, and communications.
Andrew S. Weiss
James Family Chair, Vice President for Studies
Andrew S. Weiss is the James Family Chair and vice president for studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he oversees research on Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia. His graphic novel biography of Vladimir Putin, Accidental Czar: the Life and Lies of Vladimir Putin, was published by First Second/Macmillan in 2022.
