Brussels

In October 2016, Carnegie Europe and the European Endowment for Democracy co-hosted the inaugural meeting of the Carnegie Civic Research Network in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting convened network members together with European and international donors, practitioners, and analysts who are engaged in forging new civil society assistance strategies. Discussions examined the changing forms of civic activism across multiple regions and identified the implications for international civil society support. Members also examined new forms of civic activism and the key issues that they raise for international funders. Members worked to identify how international civil society support can best reflect the changing nature of global civic activism.
