Ever since it achieved independence from the Soviet Union, Georgia’s ambition to “rejoin the West” has been central to its political agenda.
A new survey by the Caucasus Research Resource Centers, commissioned by Carnegie Europe and the Levan Mikeladze Foundation for the Future of Georgia project, reveals the societal forces that complicate Georgia’s long road to European integration.
Is Georgia still on the European track? Thomas de Waal will host an event to discuss the future of Georgia and what more can be done to bridge the country’s societal divisions.
De Waal will be joined by Nino Lejava, author of "Georgia’s Unfinished Search for Its Place in Europe", Dustin Gilbreath, coordinator of the commissioned survey, and well-known analyst Archil Gegeshidze.
