Konstantin Gaaze is a nonresident scholar at the Carnegie Moscow Center. Gaaze was born in Moscow in 1979. In 2001, he graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in government administration, and started working in public relations, than he ran his own advertising business. From 2006 to 2008, he was the advisor to the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. In 2008, he began his journalistic career: he worked as a reporter and political columnist for Russian Newsweek and Slon.ru, and as an editor for Moscow News, Interfax, and the news magazine Big City. In 2016, he received an M.A. in sociology from the University of Manchester (MSSES).
