Marc Owen Jones is an associate professor of Middle East studies at Hamad bin Khalifa University, a senior nonresident fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, and a nonresident fellow at Democracy for the Arab World Now. He is also the author of Digital Authoritarianism in the Middle East: Deception, Disinformation and Social Media, published by Hurst and Oxford University Press.
