Olivier Blarel is a visiting fellow in the Europe Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. His research focuses on transatlantic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.

Olivier has an expertise on security, diplomatic relations, and politics in South Asia with a special focus on India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

Before joining Carnegie, Olivier was a policy officer and analyst on South Asia at the Directorate General for International Relations and Strategy of the French Ministry of Armed Forces.

Olivier has also taught international security, theory of international relations, international political economy, and political philosophy in various universities in the Netherlands (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Leiden University, Erasmus University, University College Utrecht) and in France (ESSCA). He has also worked as scientific secretary and research fellow at the Centre de Sciences Humaines (CSH) in New Delhi.

Olivier holds degrees in Compared Politics and European Studies from Sciences Po Paris and IEP Strasbourg.
