First-of-Its-Kind DVD Details Security Issues Facing the Nation
Top Experts Provide Clarity on Weapons of Mass Destruction
The Carnegie Endowment has released a new and innovative tool for understanding the complexities of the current threat of weapons of mass destruction and viable solutions-The Proliferation Threat DVD. Complete with stunning graphics and videos, this DVD features experts and officials giving a frank look at U.S. nuclear policy, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and the proliferation challenges of space and bio-technology.
"Today's security discussions are riddled with misinformation and confusion. This DVD delivers straight talk and clear explanations from the top experts in the field. It is ideal for anyone who wants to understand the threats from terrorism and weapons of mass destruction," said Joseph Cirincione, director of the Non-Proliferation Project.
The DVD complements Deadly Arsenals, the most comprehensive assessment available on the dangers nations face today from weapons of mass destruction. Co-authors of Deadly Arsenals also present video tutorials: "Global Proliferation Trends," with Joseph Cirincione and "A Nuclear Primer," with Jon B. Wolfsthal. The DVD has captions for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The DVD features: IAEA Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei, Carnegie President Jessica T. Mathews, U.S. Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham, Assistant U.S. Secretary of State John Wolf, Senator Chuck Hagel, Ambassador Liu Jieyi of China, Former Senator Sam Nunn, and National Security Council official Franklin Miller.
Joseph Cirincione is senior associate and director of the Non-Proliferation Project at the Carnegie Endowment. Jon B. Wolfsthal is the deputy director, and Miriam Rajkumar is project associate. Jon Lottman of Masaya Media produced the DVD.
