He is an Executive Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Council and is also the former Board Chair of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), where he continues to serve on the Board of Directors.

Gen. Brent Scowcroft is president of The Scowcroft Group. He served as national security adivser to presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush from 1975-1977 and from 1989-1993.
