Healthcare in the United States and Russia

Thu. March 22nd, 2012
Washington, D.C.

IMGXYZ3573IMGZYXThe United States and Russia are pushing forward reforms to improve their healthcare systems. Russia’s demographic crisis and generally declining health indicators have made healthcare reform a top priority, as have issues of access for the United States. While the reforms are fundamentally different, both countries are struggling to balance quality and accessibility versus costs. What are the challenges and best practices of current healthcare financing models on the regional and national levels in both countries?

The Carnegie Endowment hosted two of Russia’s leading healthcare experts as they met with American decision makers and experts for a series of discussions.
