Tamanna Salikuddin is no longer with the Carnegie Endowment.

Tamanna Salikuddin was a nonresident scholar in Carnegie’s South Asia Program. She was director for Afghanistan and Pakistan at the U.S. National Security Council from 2011 to 2013. 

Salikuddin has expertise in a range of topics related to South Asia, including counterterrorism, governance issues, and domestic reform in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India. She has served as a political officer at the U.S. embassy in Islamabad, a Pakistan desk officer at the U.S. State Department, and a U.S. intelligence analyst on Pakistan. 

Prior to joining the U.S. government in 2006, Tamanna worked in South Asia, particularly in India and Sri Lanka, as an attorney focusing on international law issues.
